The U.S. House of Representatives has passed Resolution 758 in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Annual Address. The resolution got 411 votes and stipulates intensification of the information war against Russia, especially on Russian-speaking territories.
The U.S. accuses Russia of aggression against Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, violation of their sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. Washington urges Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine and stop helping separatists in Donbass.
The document contains proposals for the State Department and the president to start informing the public in Russia. The resolution urges NATO states and U.S. allies to halt any military cooperation with Russia and the U.S. Armed Forces to reconsider readiness within the framework of the CFE.
Adam Kinzinger, a republican who voted for Resolution 758, said that the U.S., Europe and their allies should continue to put pressure on Putin.
