Iran announces state's nuclear budget

Iran has announced the state's nuclear budget. The budget was presented to the Iranian parliament on Sunday, December 7th. According to the document, by March 2009 had Iran spent 22.2 trillion rials (about $3-3.5 billions) in this sphere. From March 2009 to March 2014 the government spent 14.85 trillion rials (about $1-1.5 billion).

 

The Iranian government plans to spend 5.681 trillion rials on nuclear projects in the next fiscal year (starts March 20, 2015). Taking into account a dollar rate in the draft state budget for next year of 28,500 rials, Iran plans to spend $181 million on its nuclear program next year.

 

According to the budget, promulgated  by news agency ANA, Iran is going to spend $21 million on exploration of uranium reserves, $62.5 million on the development of the Bushehr nuclear power plant and about $20 million on the implementation of various measures, such as the production of 34 tonnes of five-percent enriched uranium oxide and 50 tons of zirconium rods.

 

In addition, Tehran wants to spend $6 million on the protection of nuclear facilities against various types of threats such as cyber attacks and others, Trend reports.
