Turkey is a reliable ally of Russia in Russian energy exports to Europe, the Minister of Energy and co-chair of the Russian-Turkish inter-governmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, Alexander Novak, stated.
"We recently have very good relations, especially in the energy field, with Turkish partners ... It satisfies our cooperation, our relationship in terms of reliability, issues associated with investments in Russia and Turkey. So we hope that all the agreements that exist will be executed in full," RIA Novosti quotes Novak.
The most important joint project at the moment, the minister said, is the "Turkish Stream", to replace the "South Stream" project, which was cancelled by the Russian side. "We are actively working on a feasibility study of the project. We believe that the new route is a promising direction in which to supply energy, in particular gas, to Europe," he said.
