At a press conference after a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the difficult situation in the world economy and politics will affect the process of formation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
"Of course, the instability of world markets, the sanctions policy, weakening trust between the leading powers of the world, the threat of aggravation of the military-political situation - all this will affect the processes of formation of the Eurasian Economic Union. We take into account these challenges," Nazarbayev said, noting that the participants in the EEU had "combined their economic potential, responding to the challenges of the 21st century."
He urged the participants in creating the integration association "to be ready for hard work, for new challenges."
"Our path to the EEU took two decades, during this time it became incarnate from the ideas put forward in distant 1994, to concrete, practical solutions today," he is quoted by TASS.
The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) offers equal opportunities for the 180 million population of the participating countries of the association, said Nazarbayev.
He stressed that in creating a strong economic foundation, the countries of the EEU strengthen mutual friendship, good neighborliness and trust. "Today, we define a powerful vector of lasting peace, harmony, mutual benefit and support for our countries. And at the same time, integrating economically, all State Parties strengthen the immutable principles of political sovereignty and independence, the cultural, linguistic uniqueness of our people," the President of Kazakhstan said.
