Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel that terrorism had no religious alignment and should not be associated with Islam.
The Turkish PM is on a one-day visit to Germany. He visited Paris yesterday and commemorated the victims of the terrorist attacks of January 7-9, RIA Novosti reports.
Davutoglu reminded that the terrorist attack in Norway in 2011 had not been labeled Christian terrorism.
Merkel noted that Germany and Turkey were actively fighting terrorism, despite their differences on many issues. She said that Islam was part of German culture, many Turks were working in Germany. The German leader encouraged dialogue with Muslims.
