The White House has refrained from criticizing the cartoons of Charlie Hebdo’s French journalists, depicting Prophet Muhammad
Less than a week after the bloody attack on the French office of the publication, the magazine has published a new cartoon, which depicts the prophet crying, with a poster reading "Je suis Charlie Hebdo" in his hands.
Prior to the terrorist attacks in Paris, the US government, though always supporting freedom of expression, nevertheless criticized these cartoons. Speaking at a briefing to reporters, spokeswoman for the US State Department Marie Harf only urged journalists to "take into account all the details that they deem important."
