Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confidence about unchangeable realities in Transcaucasus

Changing realities in the Transcaucasus is impossible, despite the
efforts of Georgian diplomats to complicate stabilization in the
region, Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigoriy Karasin
said before the start of next week's new round of discussions in
Geneva on security in the Transcaucasus, RIA Novosti reports.

Karasin said that the Geneva discussions are aimed at opening a direct
dialogue between Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia after
a five-day war with Georgia in August 2008. Tbilisi declared Abkhazia
and South Ossetia occupied territories and cut all diplomatic
relations with Russia.
