There is no reason to impose new sanctions against Iran, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
"In my opinion, there is no reason to turn to the subject of additional sanctions against Iran again, even for those who cannot renounce their own sanctions itch," he believes. According to him, with every new meeting the sides achieve greater progress than the last.
"Confidence is growing that it will be possible to reach an agreement in the framework of the given deadline, that is, June 30," the diplomat said. "I would like to emphasize that, contrary to some media's opinion that Russia has lost interest in reaching an agreement, we continue to work in the same way, in the mode of facilitating the search for compromises, and the main thing is to provide the most reliable and indisputable way of those interests that Russia stands in the negotiating process," the head of the Russian delegation said at the talks with Iran.
"In the first place, it is important to make sure that confidence in the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program has been restored in a reliable, verifiable way. Secondly, that it is made without departing from the fundamental mode in the field of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and most importantly, to receive an increment in the development of our bilateral ties with Iran, the opportunity to expand our cooperation with this country in the atomic energy sector and in other elements of the negotiating process, which affect us directly," Ryabkov said.
"We hope that continuation of the negotiations will mean the next significant step towards an agreement. Everything that has happened with Iran in the negotiations since January gives us great hope," Ryabkov summed up.
