The Russian opposition doesn't believe the version that the murder of the co-chairman of the RPR-PARNAS political party Boris Nemtsov may be associated with Islamic extremism.
A member of the Bureau of the Federal Political Council of the RPR-PARNAS political party, Ilya Yashin, doubts the version of an Islamic-extremist link to Nemtsov's killing. Nemtsov, according to him, was an absolutely religiously tolerant person.
As he noted, Nemtsov criticized terrorists and murderers, but he has never said anything bad about Islam. He also noted that many public figures expressed a similar position after the killing of the journalists at the Charlie Hebdo office. "So this version is absolutely ridiculous and it is a cover operation for the real motives behind Nemtsov's killing, which, from my point of view, is connected to his active political opposition activities," the member of the RPR-PARNAS political party said.
The coordinator of the democratic movement Solidarity, Sergei Davidis, is also skeptical about the version of an Islamic-extremist link.
