Sergey Mamedov, a senator of the Samara Oblast, deputy head of the Federation Council committee for regulations and organization of parliamentary work, has visited Vestnik Kavkaza today. He said that Russian humanitarian aid saved the southeast of Ukraine from humanitarian catastrophe and death. The senator added that Russia was the only country to provide full-fledged aid.
Mamedov reminded that Ukraine had not let the first Russian humanitarian aid through. The Russian Foreign Ministry, according to the senator, warns about every convoy sent. He noted that the obstacles created by the Ukrainian authorities in the path of the convoys has threatened delivery of humanitarian aid. Mamedov mentioned that one of the convoys had spent about seven days on the border, waiting for Kiev’s permission to pass.
The senator clarified that food was not the only aid delivered. The latest convoys to Luhansk were glass. The region has about a million square meters of housing space without windows, which is especially problematic in winter, the official pointed out.
