A poll conducted by the Russia Public Opinion Research Center (WCIOM) said that most Russians are confident that President Vladimir Putin’s team consists of professionals and supporters. Sociologists decided to study Russians’ assessments of Putin’s team, particularly its composition and effectiveness.
The poll was conducted on February 7-8, 2015. Around 1,600 people from 132 Russian cities and towns took part in the survey.
According to the poll, most of the respondents (93%) said that Putin can rely on his team. One third of those polled (37%) are confident that the team consists mostly of professionals, while another 37% say most people in Putin’s team are his supporters. Only 13% of respondents said that the president has gathered his friends and acquaintances around him.
61% of respondents said that Putin needs more supporters who share his views. 31% said that the president should be surrounded by professionals. Only 2% of respondents said they would like to see more of Putin’s friends in his team, while 6% of participants remained undecided, TASS reports.
The majority of respondents (64%) believe that Putin’s supporters help him fulfill his goals and objectives. Only 14% of people said the president’s team hampers his work rather than helps.
Moreover, a conviction that Putin should retain the current composition of the team is growing in society. Now 21% stand for a radical renewal of personnel, which is significantly less than before.
