The parliament of Georgia has postponed the final reading of the new draft constitution of the country until the 15th of October. The agreement was reached at a plenary session of the parliament, ITAR-TASS reports.
The initiative for postponing the vote was taken by the opposition faction of the Christian Democrats. The vice-speaker of the faction, Levan Vepkhvadze, said at the meeting that "a few days is necessary for the deputies-members of the faction to get acquainted with the final version of the new Constitution.” “We need to examine whether all the agreements reached during the consultations in recent weeks have been included in the final draft constitution," he said.
