IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said at a conference on nuclear proliferation in Washington that he is not satisfied with the cooperation with Iran aimed at obtaining evidence of the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program.
"It is true that we have had some engagement from Iran on issues with a possible military dimension. But in the past several months, progress has been very limited," Interfax cited him.
The IAEA for years has been investigating the possible military dimensions of the Iranian nuclear program.
The diplomat sounded upbeat about the potential for an agreement being implemented. "If a new agreement is reached, it is in the interests of Iran to implement it," Amano said.
"We may have some problems from time to time. That happens with any country. But we don’t have particular reason to believe that it will not be implemented," he added.
