The US Senate voted on Thursday for a non-binding amendment to a budget bill intended to make it easier to reimpose sanctions if Iran violates a nuclear deal.
The vote was 100-0 for the amendment, sponsored by Republican Senator Mark Kirk. According to him, the Senate "voted for the security of the United States and Israel".
The document provides the principle of imposing sanctions on Iran if it violates the agreements. In addition, it allows Congress to take such measures if the US president is not able to convince Congressmen that Iran is fulfilling all the conditions of the agreements, TASS reports.
