In an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza at the presentation of the First European Games in Baku, which took place yesterday in Moscow, the Vice-President of the Russian Council on Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, former President of North Ossetia Alexander Dzasokhov, noted that "with great joy he learned that the first European Games will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, in a state close to Russia, our good neighbor."
According to him, Baku has justifiably become called a "Humanitarian Davos". "In fact, even if you overlook the last few years, the capital of Azerbaijan, in this beautiful, historic city, major events have taken place one after another. This is the meeting of Ministers of Culture of the CIS countries, there are a large variety of sporting events," he said.
"We wish success for the first European Games. Later, ten years later, we'll say we met in Baku for the first time. I welcome you dear friends in Azerbaijan and wish you much success. In connection with these games and in all directions," he concluded.
