Marco Rubio, a US Senator from the state of Florida, who intends to compete for the presidency in elections in 2016, said that he would permit the use of military force against Iran to prevent Tehran from creating nuclear weapons.
Rubio believes that the ongoing negotiations between the 5+1 Group plus Iran can hardly lead to the conclusion of a final agreement. "I do not think it will succeed," TASS cited him as saying.
Rubio, responding to a CBS reporter's question about whether the senator would consider the option of war with Iran, and whether he would send troops to Iran in case of need if he is elected as president, said "absolutely."
According to the senator, the US needs to restrict Iran with a "very clear" resolution limit in the nuclear field and make it clear that if Tehran "crosses the threshold", it will face "military action on the part of the United States."
"We don't want that to happen. But the risk of a nuclear Iran is so great that that option must be on the table," Rubio said.
The senator added that if America won't start a military operation, it will make "someone else", such as Saudi Arabia or Israel.
