All nations, regardless of their religious, ethnic or racial origins, must unite in the fight against terrorism, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, speaking in Jakarta at the summit of heads of state on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference of Asian and African countries, IRNA reports.
"The fundamental concept in the struggle against terrorism is to respect the right to life. We should reach a point in which individual lives from any faith, religion, ethnicity or race are considered and treated equal, so that peace of mind permeates in the globe; We should reach a point in which there is no difference between a Muslim, Christian, Jew or Buddhist or an African, Asian or European, so as to prevent terrorism from threatening and disrupting human peace and individual and collective security," TASS cited him as saying.
"The biggest betrayal of the divine religions is to misuse them to justify murder and killing. Global and extensive action should be initiated by the religious and cultural leaders of the world to fight justifications for murder and homicide on ideological grounds," Rouhani continued, setting out his vision of the international fight against terrorism.
