Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has urged President Giorgi Margvelashvili and the parliament to conclude the vote of no-confidence procedure by the end of the week, News Georgia reports.
Garibashvili has approved the resignation of Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Levan Kipiani today. The minister resigned due to the refusal to confront the parliamentary committee for youth and sports affairs.
According to the Georgian Constitution, a third of ministers need to resign in order to give way to the vote of no-confidence. The Georgian cabinet consists of 19 ministers. Kipiani has become the 7th minister to resign.
After the appointment of new ministers, the president will ask the parliament to vote on a motion of no-confidence, which requires 75+1 votes.
According to Garibashvili, the Georgian State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Davit Bakradze will visit Europe, Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili will visit Europe and the US, Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani will visit France, Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri will visit Germany.
