Georgia is creating the groundwork to join NATO, Trend reports, citing the Georgian State Ministry for European Integration Affairs and NATO officials.
Ambassadors from Estonia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic and US deputy ambassador met Georgian non-governmental organizations, experts and students of Tbilisi State University. They discussed all the topical issues concerning Georgian and NATO cooperation as part of the Lisbon summit.
NATO officials presented the new project "Partnership for Peace“ at the NATO office in Tbilisi. The project involves aiding Georgia in clearing the remaining explosive devices and medical rehabilitation.
The NATO delegation arrived in Georgia on October 18. It is holding lectures at Georgian education centers. The delegation plans meetings with high-ranking officials such as the chairman of parliament and members of the government.
