A total of 991 international observers will monitor the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, chairman of the Azerbaijani Central Electoral Committee (CEC) Mazahir Panahov told a meeting on Saturday, Trend reports.
He also said that more than 3,400 observers have been registered at the CEC to monitor the elections throughout the country. 20,802 observers registered for the constituencies. The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be watched by observers from 42 countries altogether.
The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for 7 November 2010. The previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by majority system in 125 constituencies.

All political forces have joined the election circus, although the opposition can at best hope to win only a handful of seats.
