The Armenian government has rejected a luxuries tax law proposed by lawmaker Victor Dallakyan, Arka reports.
“Obviously, we, as well as deputy Dallakyan, are concerned about the issue, taking into account the social polarization and the poverty level in Armenia,” Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan said.
Sargsyan said he believed further research was necessary.
Under the proposal, land, spacious apartments, private houses, motor cars, funds and securities, motor boats, sailing ships, paintings, and sculptures of culture value would be liable to additional tax charges.
