Control Chamber of Georgia doubts government can fulfil budget plans

The Georgian Chamber of Control has called into question the ability of the government to fulfil its budget plans for this year. The Chamber published a scandalous statement about fulfillment of the plans in the first 6 months, Business Georgia reports.

The document said that in the first half of the year the average budget income came to 419.5 million lari, whereas the plan for the year was the collection of 5.412 billion lari. That would mean that every month of the second half of the year 482 million lari should be collected, which exceeds monthly average income in January - June by 63 million lari.

This casts doubt on the ability to fulfil the projections of this year's budget. The Chamber suggested that this could cause a repeat of the situation in previous years, when the projections were changed at the very end of the year.
