Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced a break at the
OSCE summit in Astana to agree on the resulting document, RIA Novosti
reports.
He reminded that the heads of delegations emphasized the importance of
such document at the discussions.
Russia said that it will not support the formulations of the resulting
documents if it refers to the "Georgian conflict".
Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov said yesterday that
Russia is ready for resulting documents of the summit and supports
Geneva discussions. But it will not agree on the discussions about the
Georgian conflict.
He noted that Russia, EU, USA, OSCE and UN are stated as mediators,
equal participants of the process, as well as Georgia, Abkhazia and
South Ossetia, whose independence from Tbilisi was recognized by
Russia in August 2008.
The minister said that full-fledged membership of Abkhazia and South
Ossetia confirms their status of independent states. Lavrov also said
that there can be no talks about former Georgian territorial unity.
