Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan to establish strategic cooperation committee

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey,
Syria, Jordan and Lebanon are planning to establish a commission for
quadrilateral strategic cooperation.


Davutoglu said at a joint press-conference with the Syrian Minister of
Foreign Affairs Walid al Muallem that the two countries are improving
ties and expanding cooperation.


He said that they will discuss Turkish-Syrian strategic relations on
December 21. They will also discuss 51 cooperation documents signed
last year.


Walid al Maullem said that Syria welcomes the Turkish role in regional
affairs and hopes that cooperation will continue improving, Trend
reports, citing Xinhua.


Walid al Muallem arrived in Turkey on December 9.
