Sergey Mironov, chairman of the Federation Council, leader of the Just
Russia Party, has commented on the collision between radical youth and
law enforcers on Manezhnaya Square, a message sent to Vestnik Kavkaza
says.
Mironov said that people can assert that criminals have no
nationality, but what we see is the ‘lop-sided’ behaviour of the law
enforcers. It seems as though people who arrive in Moscow have a lot
of money and they can pay them off. People need a fair investigation,
he said.
The politician emphasized that threats to the security of citizens
need to be punished. There will be proposals in the future. The
country needs a separate executive structure to form and implement
inter-ethnic policy.
He said that the Presidium of the Lawmakers’ Council and the Joint
Commission for National Policy and Relations of the State and
Religious Unions under the Federation Council will hold a joint
session on December 15.
The council will hold talks on the events on Manezhnaya Square and the
people behind them. There will be discussions of the measures the
authorities and society need to take for protection. The presidium
will view the responsibility of the law enforcers and their actions or
lack of actions.
