Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will give a live interview to the
First, 'Russia' and NTV channels on December 24, concluding 2010, the
press-secretary of the president Natalya Timakova said, RIA Novosti
reports.
The format started in 2008. Back then, on December 24, the president
discussed events in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the economic recession
and amendments to the Russian Constitution with the head of the
information service of NTV, Tatyana Mitkova, deputy head of the First
channel, Kirill Kleymenov, and deputy head of the VGTRK channel,
Dmitry Kiselev.
Last year journalists, new program hosts or heads of TV channels, such
as Constantine Ernst, Oleg Dobrodeyev and Vladimir Kulistikov, were
asking the president questions. Unlike in 2008, the program was
broadcast live. The president touched upon all the most topical
issues. He announced major reforms in the Interior Ministry, promised
to maintain friendly ties with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and
revealed some details about his personal life.
