building for the anti-missile forces, observed the conditions in the
barracks and was shown the work of high-accuracy S-300 anti-missile

The 102nd Russian military base is located in Gumri. It serves within
the United Anti-Missile System of the CIS. Russia and Armenia extended
the agreement on August 20. The document was signed in 1995 to last
for 25 years. After the extension it will remain in force until 2046.
The protocol involves the expansion of the geographic and strategic
responsibility of the military base. The base has the S-300 and MiG-29
fighters. Approximately 5,000 people serve at the base. It protects
Armenia and provides it with modern equipment and engineering.
