On Monday Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu held separate telephone conversations with his Greek, Iranian, Syrian and Senegalese counterparts, discussing bilateral as well as international issues, World Bulletin reports.
Davutoglu and Greek Foreign Minister Dimitrios Drutsas discussed the current state of bilateral relations after the Greek premier and the Greek top diplomat's visit to Turkey, as well as steps that could be taken to improve ties. The two ministers also exchanged views over Davutoglu's planned visit to Athens in March.
Davutoglu and Syrian Foreign Minister Waled Muallem took up bilateral ties as well as a prospective meeting of a high level cooperation council between the two countries.
The Turkish foreign minister's talks with his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salehi, addressed preparations for an upcoming Istanbul meeting between Iran and the Western powers over Tehran's nuclear program.
