Only 50% of Georgian students will receive full financing

Only 15,000 out of 34,000 students will receive 100% grants, director
of the National Exams Center Maya Miminoshvili said at after a meeting
at the Education Ministry today, Georgia Online reports.


She said that student registration will start in the near future.
18,000 students will be co-financed.


The first national exams were held in 2005, and all students received
full state financing. The authorities then introduced the principle of
co-financing - 70%, 50% and 30%. Only students studying at the
departments of law, healthcare, business administration, media,
journalism, international relations and public management will receive
100% financing, provided that they earn enough points at the exams.
