Tbilisi to start constructing Kempinski Hotel in October

The Georgian Minister of the Economy and Sustainable Development, Vera Kobalia, has confirmed that a 38-storey hotel Kempinski will be built on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. She presented a model of the hotel to the parliament, Business Georgia reports.

The minister said that the construction will start in September.

Kobalia did not comment on the question from a deputy from the Christian Democrat Party, Nika Laliashvili, regarding the situation around the halting of the construction of the Khayat Hotel.

Kobalia noted that construction was stopped after the August war in 2008 and the start of the global economic recession.
