The North Caucasian management of the Russian Railways Company plans to fence 53 train stations in the South and North Caucasian Federal Districts with a 50-meter security zone to prevent terrorist attacks, the deputy head of the company's management, Vladimir Kulakovsky, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
The initiative has been discussed since the terrorist attack at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on January 24, in which 36 people were killed. Railway officials proposed regulations on railway stations.
Discussions of the initiative have not been concluded yet. It requires financing.
Kulakovsky said that there should be no problems with providing land for the cause.
