Ahmadinejad condemns English police

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has condemned the English police
for "wild behaviour" against rioters in the UK and the powerlessness
of the UN Security Council, RIA Novosti reports.

The Iranian president said that they should have cared for their own
people instead of sending forces to Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya to
steal oil.

UK and a set of other Western states condemned Iran for violence
against protesters, who had protested against reelection of
Ahmadinejad in 2009. Tehran called such comments intervention. Dozens
of people were killed and thousands arrested, hundreds jailed.

The unrest in UK started among areas inhabited by national minorities
on Saturday. They were inspired by murder of Mark Duggan by the police
in Tottenham. Disorders spread to Manchester, Birmingham, Lester,
Wolverhampton, Bristol, Gloster and West Bromwich. Over 1,100 have
been detained, over 200 of them charged. 111 police officers have been
injured.
