petroleum products could lead to the contamination of the Caspian Sea,
the head of Azerbaijan's State Maritime Administration, Gudrat Gurbanov, said
in Baku today at the conference of the Caspian states about oil pollution in
the Caspian.
According to Gurbanov, environmental pollution of the Caspian Sea is
bad for all the states, regardless of where exactly it occurs, Trend reports,
citing the press service of the Maritime Administration .
The main purpose of the conference is to provide its members with detailed
information about the standards defined by the International Maritime
Organization to protect the ecology of the Caspian Sea, he said.

International Maritime Organization, representatives of Kazakhstan,
Turkmenistan, Iran and Russia, the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, the
