Parents of children disallowed to enter schools in Muslim neckpieces have decided to settle the problem at court after a meeting of the Muslim community of the Stavropol Territory and the regional Education Minister Irina Kuvaldina, RIA Novosti reports.
Kuvaldina said that the neckpieces had a bad impact on brain blood vessels and eye sight. She recommended parents to consider an alternate form of education for their children.
Clothes regulations at schools in the Stavropol Territory were adopted on November 19. Bright clothes, low-waist trousers and skirts, clothes elements covering the face, accessories of informal youth groups and clothes with religious attributes were banned from schools.
Governor of the Stavropol Territory Valery Zerenko said in early December that the rules were common for all schools with no exceptions.
