Supreme Court closes issue of Russia's transition to winter time

The Supreme Court (SC) of the Russian Federation has once again refused to cancel Russia's year-round "summer time" and dismissed the appeal of the president of the "League of Patients," Alexander Saversky, who stated that the transition to "summer time" only violates the rights of citizens.

At the meeting, Saversky claimed that with the abolition of "winter time", a change is recorded in the state of the health and mood of people. "I'm not worried about myself, because I do sports and yoga, but about the children and other people," RIA News quotes Saversky.

In turn, the prosecutor argued that, in itself, the calculation of the time cannot influence either the environment or human health.

Currently, Russia has permanent "summer time." The switch between "winter" and "summer" time was cancelled in 2011, after which Russia has been two hours ahead of astronomical time.

Russians have met the change with mixed feelings, some people started complaining about chronic lack of sleep and fatigue.
