The sanitation service of Kazakhstan has banned the import and sale of food products of New Zealand's Fonterra company, the press service of the Ministry of Health said.
"The Chief Medical Officer of Kazakhstan has adopted a resolution to ban the import and sales of food products produced by Fonterra, ITAR-TASS quotes the news release.
As noted in the press release, the basis for the adoption of the measures was "official information from the Ministry of the primary industries of New Zealand to confirm the situation related to bacterial contamination of food products, especially infant formula, protein supplements and sports drinks and other measures taken by them to recall non-conforming products with detection of botulinum toxin in milk whey concentrate."
On August 3, Fronterra products were banned in Russia as well, due to alleged bacterial contamination.
