In the village of Kainazar, in the Alma-Ata region of Kazakhstan, 123 people have been diagnosed with acute intestinal infection, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan announced.
"The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan informs that between 24 and 30 September, 123 cases of acute intestinal infection have been registered in the village of Kainazar. 40 patients were admitted to the central hospital," RIA Novosti reports.
Laboratory studies have shown that the outbreak was caused by a dysentery pathogen.
In this regard, the district has suspended the functioning of the water distribution system, carried out cleaning and draining of the water tanks and water mains, and water disinfection is being carried out. To meet the needs of the residents of the village six water trucks have brought water to the village.
