Georgian Patriarchy speaks out against gay parades in Tbilisi and Batumi

The Georgian Patriarchy has published a statement about the rumors of gay-parades to be held in Tbilisi and Batumi. The Patriarch Ilya II blessed the Patriarchy staff for reminding that a country with a 2000-year history with 100,000 martyrs of Iveriya will not allow public homosexuality.

The Patriarchy called homosexuality sinful and urged remorse for the sin. The majority of society supports the moral values, regardless of religion, and gay parades may lead to resistance. The Patriarchy urged the authorities not to allow the parade, Georgia Online reports.
