Moscow State University is positioned third in the rating of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) - QS World University Rankings for BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa), RIA Novosti reports.The top 100 include 40 universities of China, the top 50 include 22 and the top 10 include 7. Brazilian universities have 17 positions in the rating, Indian 16, South African 8. Russia has 19 universities, including MSU among the top 10 and six universities in the top 50.The Highest rating was given to the Xinhua University (China), followed by the Beijing University (China). The fourth is the Fudan University (China), fifth Nanjing University (China), seventh Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), seventh University of Science and Technology of China, eighth University of Sao Paolo (Brazil), tenth State University of Campinas (Brazil).QS research chief Ben Souther noted that Russia had made great progress, considering its ambition to see five of its universities in the world top 100 rating by 2020.Over 9,000 scientists and employers of BRICS were questioned for the rating.
