68% of Russians questioned by the Levada Center call themselves Orthodox Christians in Russia, 7% are Muslims. Only 1% of people belong to Catholicism, Protestants, Judaism and other religions.
The number of Orthodox Christians has grown by 13% in the last 10 years (50% in 2002), Muslims by 3% (4%). The number of atheists dropped from 32% to 19%.
43% of people said six years go that they were not attending religious ceremonies. The number of them has dropped to 35%. More followers do it daily (by 4%).
6% attend ceremonies once in a month, 3% do it 2-3 times a month, 16% once a year, 17% several times.
The number of people taking part in Eucharist dropped from 78% to 65% since 2007. The number of people doing it regularly increased from 3% to 6%.
A total of 1600 people were questioned in November.
