Airzena-Georgian Airways resumed Tbilisi-Sochi flights today for the first time since 2008, using Bombardier CRJ jets capable of carrying about 90 people, ITAR-TASS reports.
The company said that it had requested permission to make the flights some months ago in light of the Olympic Games. Russia gave permission for flights until May.
Airzena (Georgia) and S7 (Russia) have been carrying out Tbilisi-Moscow, Kutaisi-Moscow flights in the past years.
Georgia and Russia stopped carrying out flights between each other in August 2008 and started running charter flights in 2010.
