Terrorists of Islamic State (ISIS) have taken over part of Kobani in Syria. Hundreds of the city's inhabitants have fled it. ISIS controls three quarters of the city in the east and is fighting for control of the south-western side, said Rami Abdel Rahman, the head of the Syrian Human Rights Monitoring Council, The Guardian reports.
Kobani plays an important role for Kurds and Islamists, it is a strategic territory between Aleppo and Ar-Raqqah.
Kurds all over Turkey started mass anti-government protests last night, resulting in mass disorders. They were outraged by the reluctance of the government to fight the terrorists. Peaceful protests were also organized in the Netherlands.
