The Primorsky District Court has released Adam Osmayev, a man suspected of plotting the murder of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He was pronounced guilty but released due to having spent 2 years and 9 months in detention, RBC reports.
Adam Osmayev was detained in Odessa in February 2012 due to a blast that occurred in a residential building, killing Ruslan Madayev (Russia), 26, and injuring Ilya Pyanzin (Kazakhstan), 28. The latter was detained. The three were allegedly planning a plot against Putin. Pyanzin was sentenced to 10 years of jail in Russia. Osmayev's extradition was halted by the ECHR.
