The director of the National Library of the Chechen Republic, Satsita Israilova, was given a gift on the 110th anniversary of the library. It was the keys to a mobile library, a bus equipped with a modern mobile library, which were given to her by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, the press service of the government of the republic reports.
"Librarians should comprehensively promote the development of a reading culture among young people. If we engage them in libraries, institutions, gymnasiums and mosques, we will be able to protect them from negative influence from the outside. A well-read, educated person will never go to war to Syria or any other country. He will work, knowing that he has a future," Kadyrov said, handing the keys to Israilova, Gazeta.ru reports.
The National Library of Chechnya was established in October 1904 on the initiative of the Pushkin School and was located on the second floor of the building of the Congress of the Tersky Oilmen in Grozny. The building was completely destroyed during the fighting in Chechnya. The library was reopened in March 2013
