The search for the missing AirAsia Malaysian Boeing has resumed. At the moment the basic version is that the plane crashed and sank in the Java Sea. The Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency of Indonesia (BASARNAS), Bambang Soelistio, stated: "Based on the coordinates given to us and the evaluation of where the estimated crash position is in the sea, the hypothesis is the plane is at the bottom of the sea. That's the preliminary suspicion," Tass quoted him as saying.
He also said that Indonesia did not have the essential submersible vehicles or other tools used to retrieve the plane from the sea bed.
"Due to the lack of technology that we have, I have coordinated with our foreign minister so we will borrow from other countries which have offered. They are the UK, France and the US," he said.
In this case, the Indonesian media reported that sounds resembling an explosion were recorded near the Indonesian island of Belitung at the time the plane disappeared from radar screens. In particular, "local fisherman heard a loud bang on the eastern shore of the island," the local newspaper Pos Belitung writes.
"If it was really a blast, the relevant departments can detect it ..." the publication edition suggests.
This morning shares of AirAsia and affiliated companies have dropped significantly on the stock exchange. The fall in the value of securities of the carrier was 7.5%.
