Mehmed Hermez, the head of the Directorate for Religious Affairs of Turkey, stated at a session of muftis of Turkish provinces in the town of Edirn that the murders of people should be condemned by the world community, whatever the ethnic or religious affiliation of the victims.
“On the one hand, 12 million people were killed in the last 10 years in the Islamic world. On the other hand, 12 people were killed in Paris last week. We see people who say nothing about murdering 12 million people, but protest against the murder of 12 people. Humanity is doomed if the world doesn’t react equally to the murders of people, whatever their ethnic or religious belonging,” RIA Novosti cites him.
At the same time, Hermez criticized the terrorist attacks on the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris.
