Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar al-Abadi said that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been wounded.
"Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of IS, was injured in Al-Qaim [a city on the Syrian-Iraqi border] in an Iraqi air strike," the newspaper "Al-Hayat" writes, referring to the head of the Iraqi government.
"Most of the time he (al-Baghdadi) spends in Syria," TASS cited him.
The leaderships of many Western countries have changed their agenda due to the threat coming from Islamic State, Al-Abadi said. He cited as an example the fact that few said incumbent Syrian President Bashar al-Assad should resign.
Al-Abadi also stressed that the US and Iran are close to reaching a bilateral agreement. "At the moment, the Iranian leadership has a desire to make it clear to their people that the United States seriously wants to come to an agreement," the Prime Minister said.
