Turkey plans to launch first spy satellite in 2012

Turkey will launch its first spy satellite in 2012, Premier Recep
Tayyip Erdogan said. The project is worth 250 million euro, Turkey
will reduce its information dependence on the USA, especially when
holding operations against the separatist Workers' Party of Kurdistan,
whose camps are located in North Iraq, RIA Novosti reports.

The conflict between Turkish authorities and the separatist party has
been going on for 25 years and has already killed 40,000 people. The
militant group is trying to obtain independence in the south-east of
Turkey.
