Today the head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, visited the studio of 'Vestnik Kavkaza'.
During the program 'Tribuna' he spoke about the achievements and plans for the development of the country, relations with the South Caucasus and the need for inter-regional integration, as well as the importance of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.
As Ramazan Abdulatipov stressed, the descendants of those people who won the Great Patriotic War, should be ashamed of conflict with each other. "Victory is not just a word, it is a feat, and we should be ashamed today of overthrowing each other, because our fathers and grandfathers shed their blood on the battlefield," he said.
The head of Dagestan drew attention to the importance of the anniversary for the Dagestani people. "The memory of the Victory is our culture, the Victory is our worldview. I was one of those who set up the parade of Heirs of the Victory, because our numbers should not thin out, they need to grow, and today this parade is held not only in Dagestan, but also in other regions. The protection of the fatherland is in the blood of Dagestanis, there were thousands of Dagestanis who were the first volunteers who went to the front in the early days. Not only Dagestani men, but Dagestani women also went to war. Dagestani women who announced they were raising funds to build the tank column 'Shamil'. In particular, you know, a Dagestani bride's silver cistume weighs 10 kg - these ancient costumes, which were in the trunks of many Dagestani women -they pulled them out, and a tank column was commissioned to be created," Ramazan Abdulatipov reminded.
He also spoke about the history of his father. "Although my father was the one of the leaders in the region and could not go to the front, he is in the photo which depicted the first three men who went to war. He was a defender of Sevastopol, wounded twice, then he returned to Dagestan and continued to work. I remember when my father came home, he told me that he had gone to the village and wondered why all the people's eyes were green. It turns out that the people had nothing to eat, they were eating grass, just sprinkling oatmeal on top. However, he stressed that "we cannot say that we fully participated in the Great Patriotic War. Because I saw the occupied territories, and our wives and children, even eating grass, were far from the bullying and harassment which Belarus and Ukraine felt," the head of Dagestan said. According to him, today the descendants of the victors should stop fighting. "You must have the courage to answer an enemy if it comes, and you need even more courage to stop fighting, to find the closest people in a former enemy. We perceived the Great Patriotic War as a war against the Soviet people. And, of course, the Russian people played the main role in this war. I remember how my father said: "I would be dead if it weren't for Senior Lieutenant Vladimir, who pulled me from the battlefield, the Germans arrived at the place where I was wounded half an hour later," Ramazan Abdulatipov said.
