A suspect in the murder of Boris Nemtsov, Zaur Dadaev, has withdrawn his guilty plea. "They were shouting all the time: ‘Did you kill Nemtsov?’ I answered, no. I thought as soon as I am in Moscow I will tell the court the truth. That I am not guilty. But the judge did not even let me speak," Dadaev said.
"I have fought for 11 years against criminals, defended the interests of Russia, but I can't speak because I did not have time to explore some code of criminal procedure?" the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper cited him as saying. Dadaev also said that in the Lefortovo detention centre he "was treated humanely and respectfully."
On Sunday Zaur Dadaev admitted his involvement in Nemtsov’s murder, but it was the judge, Natalia Mushnikova, who said that while reading out the court’s arrest warrant.
